About KILGRASTON SCHOOL
Kilgraston School is a British independent school, founded in 1930. It
is a Roman Catholic boarding and day school for girls. Currently more
than 308 pupils attend Kilgraston, of which 91 live at Kilgraston for
either weeknights or for entire half terms. Only 45 minutes from
Edinburgh International Airport, Kilgraston is a secluded gem in the
middle of 54 acres of pristine Scottish parkland in rural Perthshire.
Kilgraston is without doubt an ideal location for any girl.
Kilgraston
has recently invested £0.5 million in developing its sporting
facilities. The School now offers an international-sized, all-weather,
flood-lit hockey pitch, eight flood-lit all-weather tennis courts, a
25-metre indoor swimming pool, a sports hall with fitness gym and
climbing wall, and an on-site equestrian centre – the only one of its
kind in Scotland.
In terms of its academic record, Kilgraston
has pushed its capabilities over the last decade and often has the
highest grades in Scotland with the best Advanced Higher results (88
percent of girls obtained either an A or B grade in 2009), while it was
named as one of The Scotsman’s Schools of Excellence in 2008.
All
girls are given individual rooms, and at the age of 12 are also
provided with their own washing facilities as well as wireless internet
access. Boarders are kept entertained at the weekends with a vast array
of activities all over Scotland. From watching international rugby
matches in Edinburgh to theatre visits in Glasgow and outdoor activities
in the Highlands, there will be something for every girl.
